Chicken curry


Hope everyone is safe at home. I know it’s a very difficult time for everyone but look at it at the brighter side we all have time for each other. We have time to do what we wanted to do for a long time. 😉

Since its lockdown our apartment also locked down by saying no one should do their regular walks or run 🙁 that’s bad news for me because I wanted to loose weight but this turned out to be worse. So, I decided to go on a simple diet at least to maintain the weight than putting on more.

I made this simple chicken curry without any masala and it turned out to be yummy. So, I decide to share it.  it’s a very simple recipe.






You will need
·       250 gm of chicken
·       1 tbsp pepper powder
·       ½ tsp turmeric powder
·       ½ onion chopped
·       ½ tomato chopped
·       1 green chili (medium size)
·       Sprig of curry leaves
·       ½ tsp of mustard seeds
·       ½ tsp coriander powder
·       Salt to taste
·       1 tbsp of fresh cream
·       Handful of coriander
·       1 tbsp of butter
·       ½ tsp cumin seed
·       3 pods of garlic (crushed)
·       Small piece of ginger (crushed)

     1.    Heat the oil in a pan and add the mustard seeds, cumin seeds let them splutter. Once it starts to splutter add curry leaf and green chili fry for 2 minutes and then add the onions, ginger and garlic and sauté till onions turn golden brown.
     2.    Now you can add tomatoes and fry till they are mushy.
     3.    Then start adding the pepper powder, turmeric, coriander powder sauté for few minutes and add the chicken.
     4.    Mix all together and let it cook. I added very little water since the chicken also will give away water.
     5.    Once the chicken is almost done add the fresh cream and coriander leaves, salt and give a mix.
Your chicken is ready. Hope you enjoy this chicken curry.
