Sausage stir fry

Many of us like to eat processed food and our favorite is sausages 😉 Back at home we use sausages for breakfast as well as a side dish when we have a party and drinks are served. It’s very famous side dish that never lets you down. 😉   

We Sri Lankan's like to eat spicy food. These sausages will be made spicy. Less ingredients used as well. I have noticed that the sausages that we get in the shops are different from the fresh sausages that we get from cold stores. The once at the cold stores are fresher and tastier. If there are any special occasions, we ensure to buy the sausages from the cold store.  

When I made this first hubby was little skeptical as he has always eaten it fried plain as usual. Even that’s tasty. But once I made the stir fry, they all liked it and ever since sausages in my house is always made stir fried.  




You will need  
  • 1 pkt of sausages  
  • 2 large onions cut length wise  
  • 2 large tomato cut into cubes 
  • 2- 3 bell peppers (you can also use capsicums -bajji chilis)  
  • 5 tbsp of tomato sauce 
  • 2 tsp pepper powder  
  • 1 tbsp chili powder 
  • Oil for shallow fry

1. Shallow fry the sausages in a non-stick pan till its turns dark brown. If not till its cooked as some sausages don’t get dark brown.  
2.Keep the sausages aside in the same pan add the onions, bell peppers and sauté them till onions are golden. 
3.Add the sausages, tomatoes, pepper, chili powder and tomato sauce and mix well. Leave for 2 minutes and its done.
