Potato cutlets

I was running out of ideas as to what to make for lunch and it's been a long time that cutlet has been requested by everyone at home. So, I decided to make potato cutlets.
I made rasam and potato cutlets for lunch. It was easy and quick as rasam doesn’t take much of time. I got my mum in laws help in frying the cutlets.

Mostly it's been made out of meat or fish but since I didn’t have any mince item, I made it with potato.
To my surprise my fussy eater, my daughter liked it very much that she was asking for more. How happy I was. 😊

You will need
·
7 to 8 potatoes boiled and mashed
·       1 onion chopped
·       1 green chili chopped
·       ½ ginger garlic paste
·       ½ tsp pepper powder
·       ½ tsp garam masala
·       ½ tsp coriander powder
·       ¼ tsp turmeric powder
·       Salt to taste
·       1 packet of Bread crumbs (decide on the quantity ur planning to make on)
·       2 tbsp of corn flour
·       2tsp oil
·       Oil for deep frying

      1.    In a kadai add the oil and add in the green chili, onion and ginger garlic paste and sauté till its golden color and then add all the masalas n sauté for few seconds then add the mashed potatoes in low heat and add salt to taste. And mix everything and off the heat.
     2.    Into this mix u also can add 2 tbsp of bread crumbs and mix well.
     3.    Let it cool down.
     4.    Meanwhile take the corn flour and mix it with little water to a tick consistency.
     5.    And start to heat the oil for deep frying. Now you can start making the mashed potato into any shape you desire.
    6.    Then coat it in corn flour and then with bread crumbs and it’s ready to be fried.

You can also add chili powder as I haven't added coz of my kids. And number of chilies also can be increased according to the hotness you like.

You can serve this as a side dish or even as an evening snack to go with tea.
